Swedish term or phrase: vårdkedjan gynnar åldringsvården
Article on organizational systems
Gu
English translation:Health care workflow is favourable to geriatric care
Explanation:
"Vårdkedjan" literally means "the health care chain", meaning the health care system in general.

gynnar = is beneficial/favourable to

åldringsvården = äldreomsorgen = care for the elderly = geriatric care

That's your meaning, as for making it sound good in English, I leave it up to a native speaker.

Good luck!

I should add, that \"åldringsvården\" sounds just a tad derogatory (or more colloquial at any rate) to me, as opposed to \"äldreomsorgen\". It is a hunch, but I am guessing that the author of the article is not too happy about the situation the article describes.

If further context supports my assumption, you may want to reflect this sentiment in your translation by choosing a more colloquial term than \"geriatric\".

Thank you, Mårten, for your exellent answer. You were the only one answering, so it must have been considered rather tricky to translate "vårdkedja". I think the word "work flow" is perfect but he professor (prof. of organization at the School of Economics and Commrecial Law in Göteborg)for whom I´m translating preferred to keep the literal translation "health care chain". Perhaps something new will be introduced into the English language by this? The reason why I´m reacting so late is that I´m at the university only two days a week.

Kind regards
