Swedish to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general)
Swedish term or phrase: dröjda infektionsparametrar
"Har initialt dröjda infektionsparametrar som förbättras"
A patient with diverticulosis whose CT scan showed bowel inflammation.
Can anyone suggest something for 'dröjda' in the context of infection parameters, please?

English translation:increased infection parameters
Explanation:
I strongly believe that this must be a typo/mistake at some point and should really read "höjda".

I think that "delayed infection parameters" would be much less likely per se (and it would be strange to use "dröjda" rahter than "fördröjda"), but the crucial part is that they "förbättras".

What they that refer to, if they were delayed? That the increase does appear, so that the physician gets a more clear picture for diagnosis? Would still be strange to refer to that as an improvement.

No, what they must mean is that the parameters initally are raised, but later on normalise (=improve).

I agree, it is probably a typo for höjda as patient notes are usually transcribed from a dictation. Höjda is what I would expect to see in this context and could be wrongly transcribed.

agree  Helen Johnson: Can it not be talking retrospectively, i.e. symptoms but ones that were not showing before admission and this scan? That's how I read it.
