as a physiotherapist this are trems that I use daily. Full range of movement=the joint can be moved/move in its natural range. Outer range= is the last bit of movement when you straighten a joint (usuallybut depending on joint). Inner range is the last bit when you bend. In disuse and injury the outer range is usually lost first. This is usually due to shortning of muscles but can also be joint capsul contractures or bony block.

It means that the patient has, for the most part, normal range of motion but that there is resistance when the joints are near the outer limits. I am posting this as a discussion entry rather than an answer because I am not that familiar with terms in this particular area of medicine.
