You could translate it as ´if you have received compensation by mistake´, or something like that.
However, I think I would prefer to keep the issues separate - the person who has received compensation must return it, if they should not have had it in the first place for whatever reason.
Then it is up to the insurers or whoever is paying compenation to pay out the correct amount and deal with the mistake or other reason for the incorrect payment. This need not concern the customer receiving the compensation.
´... Paid too much´ and ´compensation you are not entitled to´ indicate fairly strongly that something is wrong somewhere. |
