Swedish term or phrase: hej du! fattade inte hela poenget dar, men d var sott att forsokte. adjo forsto
Hi,
My friend sent me this message and i dont understand it. Was wondering if you could tell me what it means. Thanks
mala
English translation:hi there! didn't quite get it all, but it was sweet of you to try. good bye, "forsto"
Explanation:
Hi there! (you) didn't quite get it all, but it was sweet of (you) to try. good bye, "forsto"

There is a mistake in gender on "poäng", should be "poängen", not "poänget". There is a "du" (you) missing in "men det var sött att försökte".

"poäng" means "punchline" for jokes, and "point" for reasoning arguments. It all depends on what it refers back to.

"forsto" doesnt mean anything in Swedish so I assume it is a name. It could be the befinning of "förstod" (understood), but that wouldn't make sense. Are you sure the person who wrote this is a native speaker of Swedish?

Actually, since there is no pronoun indicated in Swedish, it could also mean \"I didn\'t quite get it all\", and not \"you didn\'t quite get it all\". This should be clear for you if you are the recipient of the message.
