As you will see in the link the phrase 'cartridge belt' is relatively a more modern usage.
the word 'bandolier' would fit the nature of the text since it talks about the Turkish Army of at the time of World War I.

Yet, since all items listed are to define the military equipment items carried around the body of a soldier, it was referred to the "cartridge box" that was used to carry spare cartridges for the rifle. It is common to see such abridged usages of today's modern terms in the military back in those days.
