| Turkish term or phrase: arkasına döndü | Greetings,
I just wanted to check that I'm right in believing that since “dönmek” usually means “to return”, “arkasına dönmek” means “to turn round”.
Context:
Aygül, arkasından koşarak, yakalıyayım diye düşünüp birdenbire tekrar arkasına döndü.
BTW, is “arkasına dönmek” the usual way of saying “to turn round” (i.e. to rotate 180 degrees on the spot where one is standing)?
All the best, and many thanks,
Simon |
