kanaatkâr
contented

Explanation:
Once more, it is a typo: correct spelling is "kanaatkar".

I have thought of "abstinent", too. But I think the context is more in general about being satisfied with things as they are and not about refraining from indulgement (as is with abstinence).

abstinent

Explanation:
The leading scholars of Sufism describe a true dervish as one who is abstinent, pious, righteous, patient, loving, tolerant.

From Al-Ghazali, because act is involved in sufism, as a mystical way dealing with practices, contented is not enough, it should be more...

abstemious

Explanation:
The word actuallly is misspelt it should be kanaatkâr. In sufismI think you should employ "abstemious".

On the other hand Sufi (Muslim abstemious devotee) who controls his wishes and desires according to the Shariah (Revealed Law) and is never swept away by self-desires nor falls prey to the lust of life and lasciviousness, he never disregards the Shariah.
