I've known Ozdemir's Erdogan's version for years, as well as Bulent Ersoy's and Sezen Aksu's. Only this week I was roaming YouTube and came across two different versions by Mustafa Sagyasar. Now I need to find out *how* to change the category (I am returning to proz after seven years...)

I do not think this could be precisely translated only with a dictionary as it has lots of literary elements.BTW, listen to it sung by Mustafa Sagyasar, you'll love it. My sincere support about changing the category to PRO.

It's just that it IS a folk song. Translating poetry is a difficult task in general, and in folk music, you have a lot of filler lines that just don't translate properly. But that's just my opinion. I offered a rough translation below.
