Türkçe'nin "Begriffssystematik"ten yoksun oluşu ve kimsenin yazışmalarda homojeniteye özen göstermemesi, biz çevirmenlerin işini zorlaştırıyor. Eğer çevireceğiniz metinde gerçekten "SAYI: 2003/549 Esas" yazılıysa, bence bu, "Esas No. 2003/49" anlamına geliyor.
O yazıyı yazan "kütük", Türkçe'nin ırzına geçerek aklınca böyle bir "ucube" yaratmış. Türkiye'de mahkeme dosyalarına numara verilmesinde, gelen her "iş" mahkeme sicil defterine kaydedilirken "yıl" ve "giriş sıra numarası" ile numaralanır. Buna hem ceza, hem hukuk işlerinde "Esas No." denir. Alternatif kavramlar "dosya numarası" veya "sayı" olabiliryor. "iş" karara bağlanınca, buna bir de "Karar" numarası verilir; karar numarası, kararın verildiği yıl ve sıra numarasından oluşur.
