Vietnamese to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general) / Oncology | | Vietnamese term or phrase: Ung thư Vú Mới phát | It appears in the user instructions for a medication. I know it is a type of breast cancer ... but which one?

| Grading comment My first thought was "recently discovered". You've confirmed it. Thanks. Of course it cannot be "early-stage" because "early-stage" relates to the CANCER, and not to its discovery!

In Vietnamese, the adjective or the qualifying terms go after the words/nouns that they are meant to qualify.
In this case, <mới phát> qualify <giai đoạn ung thư vú>, or just <ung thư vú>. Therefore, <mới phát> have to follow <ung thư vú>. Because <vú> qualifies <ung thư>, it cannot be separated from <ung thư>. In other words, <ung thư vú> is a noun phrase and <mới phát> are the terms that qualify <ung thư vú>, which explains why <mới phát> follow <ung thư vú> but not <ung thư>.
