Not English, not African. Boozhoo is American Indian

Explanation:
This is the Ojibwe word for Hello and Bonjour!

Indian people had lived in the region of the fur trade for centuries before the arrival of the Europeans. But it was not always the same tribe. The natural riches of the land were important to the native people as well. When the Europeans came and offered valuable trade goods for the furs of the beaver and other animals, native tribes fought with each other to win control of the land and the trade. The Ojibwe (also called the Annishanabe), fought with the Dakota (Sioux) and forced them to move farther south and west.

disagree  humbird: All you said about the tribe is correct. However Ojibway language belongs to Algonquian family and I had an Ojibway friend and his language is both English and Ojibway. It did NOT sound like this at all (to my ears).
