My Grandfathers middle name. We are wondering about meaning and orign. His surname was Hopf
Explanation: adresa in Czeck, adresas in Lithuanian, adres in Polish, the same in Russian, just in Cyrillic (Adresa is just plural in Russian). I guess other East European countries differ not too much. So perhaps Poland, Baltic states, the Ukraine & even Russia. I know for sure Germans used to live in the south & west of Poland, Baltic states, the Ukraine (& the Crimea), Russia, Slovakia, Hungary. Hope it helps a little. Good luck & best wishes, Virginia Schachke!
