Here we go again....

I am working on a PPTX presentation (PowerPoint 2007) and with TagEditor (Trados 2007) and the file won't save As Target...
The error is as follows :

I am running Vista Home Premium and Office 2007 and a brand new computer (with very few bugs, I hasten to say..)

This is for a direct client, so I have the original PPTX and need to delivery back in my target language (French).
It is the 4th presentation I have done for this client this week but it's the first one with which I am having problems....Grrrr....

I have checked this forum and the previous threads about this problem....nothing has worked so far.

I have also tried to work the file in OpenOffice, no luck either.

Any suggestion or do I just throw everything out of the window ?

Carole

Special characters? Nov 6, 2009

Hi Carole,
are there, by any chance, any special characters, such as €? These might be causing your problem.

Have you tried to check TAGs? Nov 6, 2009

Did you leave a segment empty by any chance?
Does the untranlsated ppt save as target directly after opening in Tageditor?
Maybe you try to save the pptx as ppt (2003) instead and then try again in TE?

I'll try all these... Nov 6, 2009

Thanks for your suggestions so far...I shall now try all these

I shall check for special characters. I know I do not have any € but I might well have some others...

I have checked tags and didn't find anything wrong, but I'll do it again.

I am quite sure however that I did save it all in PPTX.

Well, if other people have other good suggestions...do not hesitate !

PS In the meantime, I'll keep the computer in the office a little b

Problem found Nov 6, 2009

Thank you Jerzy and Stanislav,

Thank you for your kind advice.

I've tried all your offered solutions and found out there was a problem with an empty segment. While I was in the process of checking I checked all my tags (again!)...
Anyway, it somehow worked.

Yeepee !

Carole.

Source file: Excel 2010, SDL Trados Studio 2009 Aug 31, 2011

I got this error message while working on the translation on an Excel sheet. The original file format was Excel 2010. I had no empty segments neither strange characters in the translation. I found no other solution than to copy the translations directly into the Excel sheet. SDL Trados Studio did not manage to create the target file...
