I raised this issue several weeks ago in the KudoZ forum but it appears not to have been noticed by site management.

As things now stand, the only reliable way to see if a term has already been entered in the KudoZ glossaries is to use both search engines: "Search Glossaries" and "KudoZ Search."

For example, if you enter the German phrase "Grunde nach" - short for "dem Grunde nach" in German to English in Search Glossaries there are no results. But if you enter the sa

But if you enter the same term in KudoZ Search, you find the term and answers.

Can this problem be corrected before too long? It has resulted in people asking new KudoZ questions when the terms are already in the glossaries.

That would be AWESOME! Nov 10, 2004

That would be a GREAT IDEA, Kim. I've often wondered about this - I think one comprehensive search form for all of the sections of ProZ would be helpful. At least a link between KudoZ and Glossaries including a bilingul option for the glossaries would be cool (also see: http://www.proz.com/topic/25364 ).

Yes, definitely a good idea. Nov 10, 2004

A great idea, Kim. I too was wondering if there is no way to make this search easier. A single query form would be great. Is there a chance to add the glossary search to the internet search form? So far, only KudoZ questions are part of the internet search.

The two features used to be combined Nov 10, 2004

I do miss that single search option myself and I've been wondering why it disappeared. Did it just slip away with the new KudoZ design, or did lumping all that data together get to be too cumbersome?

A very strange thing is... Nov 10, 2004

...that in Kudoz Glosaries there is no possibility to search for German-Spanish terms ???

Why?

I agree Nov 11, 2004

Totally, though I think the explanation when the change happened was indeed that it was too cumbersome.
Hope I'm wrong.

Yes, please can we have just one search of all glossaries. It is totally beyond me why this has been separated or what the difference is. I hadn't even been aware of how useful "kudoz search" is until Kim posted his last thread on this subject and had wondered why I couldn't find terms (in search glossaries) I knew had been asked.
