Hi do you know a way to export memoQ termbases and import them to Trados Studio 2015? I have tried exporting and importing in XML format but it does not work. Many thanks in advance Alberto

Have you tried the TMX format? It's the international format form TMs and should work with any Cat Tool.

Have you tried Glossary Converter? | Jul 25, 2016 |
Hi I use Glossary Converter (http://www.cerebus.de/glossaryconverter/) to import Trados Studio Termbases into MemoQ. I guess it should work the other way round too, although I have never tried it. Hope it helps! Laura | | | | I_CH Local time: 16:45 German to Italian + ... TOPIC STARTER
Hi Paul thank you for your answer but I have the feeling that you do not know how termbases work in memoQ. 1st of all there is not such a feature like "Export to Excel format". MemoQ has a "Export as CSV" feature, however you have to unselect all the data you do not need in order to keep just the "Term definition" and the "Term text" (as you can see there is no "Source" and "Target", nor "English", "Italian" etc.) 2nd, if just one entry of the termbase contains mo... See more Hi Paul thank you for your answer but I have the feeling that you do not know how termbases work in memoQ. 1st of all there is not such a feature like "Export to Excel format". I could create a formula in Excel in order to join the 6 English columns in a new column (and the same for Italian), but the question is: why do CAT tools complicate our lives instead of making them simpler? Why neither Kilgray for memoQ nor SDL for Trados have though of a utilty that streamlines termbase conversions between the 2 applications? I think I'd agree the csv export isn't very helpful if you want all the details in there, but the multiterm xml works fairly well. Regards Paul [email protected] | |
