Why is the "new term search" feature STILL not working?

This seems to have been a problem for a while - the "old term search" works, while the "new term search" doesn't. Can site staff shed any light on why this issue has still not been solved after so much time, and - perhaps more to the point - why the two search features have not been merged?

Information like the exact term(s) you are unable to find in the new term search, as well as your complete search criteria ("Match entire phrase", "Fuzzy diacritics", etc.) would be really helpful in addressing any issues.

But why have two search features? Or to put it more plainly, it would seem logical that the NEW term search would allow the user to access all pertinent terms in the various terminology resources. So it's not that the new term search currently does not work, however the two give wildly different results, meaning a site user has to spend twice the time searching both, which to me seems counterproductive.

If I enter the simple Italian term "controllo", the new term search gives me 4 results, all in the -Glossary. No KudoZ entries.

If I enter the same term into the old term search, I get over a 1000 results:

If this is the way the term search is currently supposed to work, then I get it, I guess. But it seems like a bizarre operating logic. After all, "new" would seem to suggest "better", or "improved". But I'm constantly having to revert to the old term search because the new term search is laughable in comparison.

Hi Fiona,

In your first search, you have "Exact match" checked. That means it will only check for entries where "controllo" is the only word in the term (i.e. not "controllo qualità" or "controllo fornitori"). If you uncheck that you will get a lot more matches.
