Installing upgrade (from 2014 Freelance Plus to 2015 Freelance Plus)

I would appreciate someone's help concerning the upgrade installation (from 2014 Freelance Plus to 2015 Freelance Plus). What I did? I downloaded SDL Trados Studio 2015 SR-2, SDL MultiTerm 2015 SR-2 Desktop Installer (and badges). But when I go to Desktop to click and install the files, it turns out they are not .exe but .exe.part. They cannot be opened.

One more thing... As I was informed, this upgrade to 2015 allows me to get 2017 for free when it arrives. My question is - can I j... See more

Incomplete download Oct 28, 2016

A filetype .exe.part means the download did not finish. The download proceeds in chunks which are added piece by piece to the .exe.part file, then when all parts of the file have been downloaded, Windows renames it to .exe. It's possible you might have lost the internet connection part way through the download, which caused it to be incomplete.

Just try the download again.

As John mentioned, the fact t the you have "exe.part" files indicates that the download did not finish. You therefore need to finish the download or probably better to start it again a second time.

Concerning your second question: you may simply delete these "exe.part" files and - yes - you may skip Studio 2015 and direct install Studio 2017 when it comes out. Downloaded installer files may be deleted without any problems, they do not change anything in your sys... See more

So, I'll delete these two .exe.part files and stick to good old 2014 until 2017 is released. In this way I'll avoid two installations in short time, a relief
