Hello everyone,

I recently did a translation job for a german agency, they are trying to transfer the money online to my bank account, but it seems that every informtion I gave them was not enough.
I gave the swift number and they are asking me for an IBAN number, and that I dont believe is used in Brazil.
Does anyone have any kind of experience with that?
Thank you in advance
Karen

AFAIK, IBAN is used only in EU Sep 8, 2005

However, SWIFT No is not enough, as identifies only your Bank, not your account, you should also give your account No and possibly your ID Code, Registration No, your and Bank's address and like.

Thank you Uldis
I did as you say,
But aparently there is a diference between online transfering and normal transfer as far as fees are concerned.
I would like to know if any Brazilians have that experience.
Thank you!

Fees Sep 8, 2005

Dear Karen,
yes, IBAN is used only in Europe, perhaps you should speak with your bank here in Brazil, how this works and especially concerning the fees involved! Not only there is a fee of the German bank (in this case the German agency should pay) but also of the Brazilian bank (perhaps depending on the bank), so you should check this. I once tried to receive money from a German bank on my Brazilian account and the fee involved war something about 20% of the total amount...Another possib

I think that is waht I will try, my bank is charging me up to USD 10,000 USD 15,00 per transaction, and in small amounts that seems quite a bit!

Thank you!!
