Fans of Catherine Tate may see the humour in this sketch (political correctness aside... ). P.S. I wish they had used the correct term though... it's "interpreter" and not "translator". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncirovhlQcw

I had a good laugh, especially since she says she had a TEFL - or TOEFL? - certificate. You know, she says she can do it easily because she has a teaching certificate... Hullooooo! Check out the one about French bread, it's funnyyyyy!

Catherine Tate is brilliant. Don't get to see much of her over here in Germany so hadn't seen the interpreter sketch. Wonderful. Thanks for sharing! (But I ended up watching five other sketches and haven't started work yet! All your fault!)

I'd never heard of Catherine Tate, she's fantastic. I really loved "translator", I'll be sending it to all my friends. What a great way to start the day. Thanks! teju Forgot to ask, there is someone who's not identified, what country was he from? Also, what was the last comment about the sandwich about? (in the translator bit)

(in the translator bit) I was wondering that as well. Does anyone know if that's some kind of hilarious punchline which I didn't get? Anyway, was a great start into the week this morning and like Mandy I ended up watching lots of other Catherine Tate clips - the ones with her as Helen (the teenager who's not 'bovvered') are great as well. Amazing how she manages to impersonate all those very different kinds of people.

I think the sandwich bit was really about generalization on blacks | Oct 30, 2006 |
As many of us have probably noticed, blacks in Western countries are still very much discriminated against, and so more often than not, they only get to work in fast-food restaurants - hence the sandwich bit.
