International Translator Day in Thailand
Background:
Thailand will celebrate Translators’ Day on 28 October 2008 with the world. The celebration is part of the National Language Policy of the Royal Institute of Thailand.
The Royal Institute of Thailand in cooperation with the Office of the National Research Council of Thailand, Rajamangala University of Technology Pra Nakhon, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, National Electronics and Computer Technology Center, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Translators and Interpreters Association of Thailand, Sapiens, PSI Cable TV, TCEB, etc. will organize a forum entitled “Translation: An Agenda for Quality and Standards” with an aim to establish a quality and standard awareness in the development of Thai translation and interpretation industry as well as a foundation for the T&I National language Policy.
Format:
The event is broadcast via Satellite TV broadcasting LIVE (PSI TV) and internet (ProZ.com) to more than 100 countries including its 3 million members in Thailand.

Hi Inge,
Unless I am completely on the wrong track it will take place at 1:30pm Bangkok time, that is 6:30am GMT. According to http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ that will be 2:30am your time (EST). But perhaps someone can confirm this!
