I have been a part/full time translator from Chinese and English into my native lanugage, Swedish since 1994, excluding legal and medical texts.

I have come to specialize in consumer electronics user manuals and corporate business codes, and have also translated a lot of software strings. In addition, I work in the areas of government/politics, Taiwan/China affairs/sinology, tourism, and photography and bicycling, which are two active hobbies. I have also translated a great deal of general texts as well as documents related to IT and the Internet, and in my work for the Taipei Times, I regularly translate texts on more or less every topic related to democratization, political development and the development of civil society as well as any other social issue that relates to social and political development.

I translated three of the essays in the book "Jag har inga fiender, jag hyser inget hat: valda dikter och texter" by Liu Xiaobo (ISBN 978-91-85849-55-0, published in November 2011), a collection of texts by 2010 Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo, from Chinese to Swedish. I also translated parts, and oversaw and managed the translation by me, two other translators and an editor, of Shih Ming-te's book "Common Sense" (ISBN 978-98-68552-3-57, published in December 2011) from Chinese to English.

Finally, I also translated a large volume of film subtitles for the Italian branch of Softitler/Digititles for a period of several years during the early to mid 2000s.

Since 2001, I have also worked as full time translator at the Taipei Times, a daily newspaper in Taiwan. I am currently the paper's chief translator, translating, overseeing and checking translations from Chinese to English by four native English and two native Chinese speakers. The position allows me to continue to work roughly half time with my freelance translation. I may also consider Taiwan-related translations from Chinese to English, a field in which I have extensive experience from my full time translation job at the Taipei Times.

I use Trados, SDL Trados Studio 2011, Wordfast Classic and Wordfast Pro CAT tools. My average translation capacity is about 1,500 words per day, but that will vary between 1,000 to 2,000 wpd depending on topic and technical level.

I was an Authorized Translator (Auktoriserad Translator) from Chinese to Swedish certified by the Swedish National Board of Trade (Kommerskollegium) between 1994 - 1999 (certification expires when living outside the EU for an extended period of time).
