专利法第31条第2款：
一件外观设计专利申请应当限于一项外观设计。同一产品两项以上的相似外观设计，或者用于同一类别并且成套出售或者使用的产品的两项以上外观设计，可以作为一件申请提出。
（1）同一产品的两项以上相似设计
将同一产品的多项相似外观设计作为一件申请提出的，对该产品的其他设计应当与简要说明中指定的基本设计相似。一件外观设计专利申请中的相似外观设计不得超过10项。
（2）成套产品的外观设计
专利法第三十一条第二款所称同一类别并且成套出售或者使用的产品的两项以上外观设计，是指各产品属于分类表中同一大类，习惯上同时出售或者同时使用，而且各产品的外观设计具有相同的设计构思。
外观设计专利权的保护范围以表示在图片或者照片中的该产品的外观设计为准，简要说明可以用于解释图片或者照片所表示的该产品的外观设计。

Ogni domanda di brevetto per disegno o modello è limitata a un singolo disegno o modello. Due o più disegni o modelli simili dello stesso prodotto oppure due o più disegni o modelli di prodotti appartenenti alla stessa categoria e venduti o usati in un set possono essere depositati insieme in un’unica domanda.
（1）Due o più disegni o modelli simili dello stesso prodotto
Qualora si depositi un’unica domanda per diversi disegni o modelli simili dello stesso prodotto, è necessario indicare nella breve descrizione le somiglianze fondamentali dei diversi disegni o modelli del suddetto prodotto. I disegni o modelli simili in una stessa domanda di brevetto per disegno o modello non possono essere superiori a 10.
（2) Disegni o modelli per set di prodotti
All’articolo 31, paragrafo 2 si definiscono due o più disegni o modelli di prodotti appartenenti alla stessa categoria e venduti o usati in un set, come quei prodotti che appartengono tutti alla stessa classe nella tabella di classificazione, che abitualmente vengono venduti o usati contemporaneamente e che hanno un disegno o modello di identica concezione per ciascun prodotto.
L’ambito di protezione di un brevetto per disegno o modello sarà determinato dal disegno o modello del prodotto come mostrato nei disegni o nelle fotografie; la breve descrizione del brevetto può essere utilizzata ai fini dell’interpretazione del disegno o modello del prodotto rappresentato nei disegni o nelle fotografie.
