I started out working in the oil industry in Norway, Denmark and the UK. Then I was an international executive with multinational engineering firms for many years, managing subsidiaries and projects in Europe, Asia and South America.

I learned the basics of my languages in school, or taking courses. But I became a true linguist by working with the languages (English, Spanish and Portuguese) every day for many years. I have lived and worked in countries where my languages are spoken. I have prepared tender documents, negotiated complex contracts, managed projects, written manuals, analyzed annual reports and otherwise communicated on all levels.

I started freelancing back in 2000, when I found that translators our company used were far from good enough. Then I gradually expanded my client base. In 2004, I made a decision to stop traveling, spend more time at home with my family, and I started working as a full time writer and translator.

By now I have translated several million words, in several language pairs and many fields.

I use all the latest tools, follow a strict quality control system, and I produce around 120,000 words per month.
