The powered bi-parting doors are positioned to align with the doors of a train stationary at the platform and are powered to the opened and closed positions in response to signals from the train control system, which controls the train movements. The doors will not open until the train is stationary, and will close and lock before it leaves. There are six pairs of powered bi-parting doors, three for each car of the train.
The spaces between the bi-parting doors, and between them and the ends of the screen, are taken up by pivoting Emergency Exit Doors (EEDs), which can be opened from the track side by operation of a push bar mechanism. This provides egress from the track side to the platform side in the unlikely event that a train fails to stop with its doors aligned with those of the screen.
All door types can be manually opened from the platform side, after they have been unlocked using an access key.
