Life has been kind to me and I did indeed travel a lot, both for pleasure and for work. I even ended up living on the opposite side of the world!
After enjoying working as a Freelance Travel Director for almost 7 years (which took me around the globe and back) I am now back in the hotel industry working as the Project Manager for a Hotel Management Company.
The thing about traveling that I sometimes found frustrating was not to be able to speak the language in some places, not being able to communicate and express yourself freely. In today’s day and age, when technology can save us in most situations I am glad to know that translating is something that still needs the touch of a human being. Even though there are tools to facilitate and assist, in the end the text has to pass by a person in order to ensure it has an easy flow, is in the correct format, and that it all really makes sense and sounds good.
I started translating back in Sweden when my american husband at the time and I moved over there. We first did it together and it was also a great way for him to learn my language, but it has since stuck with me and it is something I truly enjoy to do. Now I translate as often as I can and have the opportunity to. I do not rely on translations as a mean of living but rather for fun. This allows me to take on only projects that I feel 100% for, and that I am interseted in, which makes for so much better results.
Customer service, flexibility, reliability, keeping calm under stress and pressure is second nature to me after spending my life in the Hotel and Tourism Industry. I am very organized, and always keep a positive and happy attitude. Originally I am from Sweden, but I have been in the US for the last 14 years, and I love it! In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, cooking, working out, and spending time with my friends. My dream is to one day get one of my books published….
Should you feel like I would be a good match for your project, please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time. I would love an opportunity to speak with you in person to further introduce myself, and to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your time, I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
