I obtained a degree in translation and interpreting from the University of Vigo in 2006. I lived and worked in England and Ireland before moving to Germany in 2009.
I started my career as a translator/interpreter while in college, volunteering for NGOs (e.g.: Engineers Without Borders). Shortly after obtaining my diploma I joined the University staff as a translator. I was in charge of translating -and managing- parts of the university's site among other duties (translating legal texts, official reports, etc.). I improved this background in localization and website translation with 2 years' working experience in the IT field at a later stage.
I have recently joined Germany's international broadcaster as a freelance collaborator translating news as well as TV and web content.
I have participated in technical translation projects since I finished college, a type of translation I find particularly appealing.
