About me

Hi, I hope that
the weather in

is better than in Dundee!
(how could it be otherwise?)

I spent 7 years working as an engineer for a company specializing in laser technology. Part of my job description was to translate manuals (see portfolio), engineering drawings and general technical material from English into Italian and, at times, from Italian into English.
My area of expertise also covers material processing (steel, plastics, wood, etc.), PLC programming, mechanical equipment etc...

I have a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Rome 1 - La Sapienza - (110/110, equivalent to 1st class honours) and an MSC in Optoelectronics from St. Andrews University.

Depending on the topic, I expect to be able to translate about 1500/2000 words per day.

My most recent works comprise translations for:

TripAdvisor.com
Microsoft
Electrolux HP
Firestore (DTE recorders)
Sunoptic
ClearOne
Dundee Contemporary Art Centre
Pacific Crest
Netezza
Paint Performance Consulting
Franklin Covey
New Horizons
Luxtec
Ametek
Leupold
Zip Surveys
Tetra Gas
Agilent
V-Trak
Quantum Energy Technology
Planar Systems
Famous Grouse
I-Play
PRC Lasers
Hilton Hotels
3Com

Please check my portfolio for samples of some of my recent translation work.

I am also available for consecutive/ad hoc interpreting. I have worked as an interpreter in a wide variety of situations: business meetings, tribunal hearings, meetings involving local authorities or the NHS, lawyer/client discussions and so on. References relating to these jobs are available upon request.
I am available to travel throughout the Central Belt and, if required, further.

For those who are wondering, the above pictures depict:
- The moon heading towards a black sun (left);
- The planet Piri (right).
The image I have chosen as my "photograph" is part of the testament of Arkadia.
All these pictures have been taken from my favourite TV series, Space 1999. If people reading my profile are the same age as me, they'll know what I am talking about. If they are not, look here (English), where I got the pictures from (thanks Ken!!!), or qui (italiano).
