Background

I started my career as a freelance translator in 2000 by starting up and managing a translation company Headstart Translation Services in Rwanda that provided quality translation and interpreting services to numerous private and public agencies including a U.S Federal government agency, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the office of the British Department for International Development, UN Agencies (UNHCR, UNIFEM and UNDP), various Rwandan government agencies (the Rwandan Inland Revenue Service, the Rwandan Parliament, the Rwandan Education Ministry),the New York City Church of Christ… to name a few

I was educated in French from my pre-school years and completed a 4-year degree in a British university. Over the last 20 years, I have used both English and French in my social and professional life (international trade, non-profit sector, mentoring, financial administration, marketing, training, translating and interpreting). I have been fortunate to travel and live in different parts of the world (Burundi, England, Germany, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, France, Belgium…) experiencing first hand the value of localization, cultural appreciation and effective communication.
