Since the age of 6, I have been fascinated by foreign languages. It was at that early age that I started studying English at a local language institute where I completed my EFL studies 13 years later. The following year, I joined the Colombian army, where I had a chance to put my language skills into practice as a consecutive interpreter for nearly a year during the Armero disaster, working as liaison between army officers and members of international rescue and reconstruction teams.

I studied electrical engineering (for 3 years), traveled abroad to study translation and interpretation (for 2 years), and became a certified sworn translator and interpreter in Colombia in 1995. Over the course of these past 17 years I have gathered significant experience in both fields. Because of the long-term relationships I have with my major clients, I have been able to gain specialized knowledge of the following areas:

i) Wastewater management and treatment,
ii) Dialysis and parenteral nutrition devices and components, and
iii) Electrical power generation.

My other fields of competence include chemistry, biology, medicine, and legal (contracts).

Thanks to my education and experience, I have been able to reach a high level of language proficiency. Yet, in order to provide my clients with the highest level of excellence, I have my translations proofread by native speakers who have more than 20 years of experience. Therefore, I am in a position to offer my clients top quality translations that read well, where a great deal of attention is placed on ensuring that the style, accuracy, and terminology are consistent with my clients' needs and target audience.
