I would like to tell you a bit about myself and my translation philosophy.

I have always thrived to find the exact correspondent term in a language. Sometimes words are untranslatable and we, the translators, have to accommodate the meaning in two or more words for the target readership.

Thoroughness, immaculate and dedication define my work as a translator. The ‘it’s readable’ approach is a paradoxical strategy that attracts delays, damages and extra expenses.

I believe that a translation is first and foremost, a communication bridge between two cultures. The idiomatic expression in culture A most likely means ‘zilch’ for culture B.

A translation has to be proofread or at least looked at with a new pair of eyes. Mistakes happen, no one is perfect, but through a bulletproof system a translation can be.

I am a professional translator, active in the translation community since 2007, constantly improving my knowledge by keeping tabs on the development of new CAT tools, and the language usage in their country of origin (Portuguese – Portugal; Spanish –Spain, etc).

I am a native speaker of English and Portuguese.
I work from French and Spanish.
