My specialist fields are music and music theatre, but my translation experience also covers fields of general interest such as tourism, marketing, gardening, household tips, history, etc. After studying music and German at Sheffield University I trained as an opera producer in London and have since earned my living as a free-lance opera director, as a music journalist and translator in German and English (Schott music publishers, Decca Records) and as a private teacher of English, theatre and singing. At present I am teaching music and English in a German grammar-school, lecturing in music theatre at the University of Dortmund and working free-lance as a translator, director of opera and musicals and choral conductor. For more than fifteen years I worked as free-lance writer and translator for the magazine, book and music production departments of Reader's Digest Stuttgart (in German), London (in English) and Zürich (in German, including French-German translations).
Meine Spezialgebiete sind Musik und Musiktheater, aber meine Erfahrungen als Übersetzerin umfassen auch allgemeine Interessenbereiche wie Tourismus, Marketing, Gartenpflege, Haushalt, Geschichte usw.
