Before moving to the U.S. in 2002, I was employed by a leading trading company in Tokyo as a sales and marketing representative for a semiconductor device. Shortly after, I joined the International Communications Team for YAHOO!’s search division in Pasadena, California to support launch, localization and operation of regional offices including Germany, France, Japan, Korea and Australia.
With verbal and written communication skills and deep knowledge of Japanese corporate culture acquired throughout my professional career, I decided to become a professional translator/interpreter to bridge communication gaps often found in Japanese and English language as well as Japanese and American corporate culture. In most recent years I have exclusively worked for a prominent law firm in Silicon Valley as an in-house document reviewer and translator, providing translation services for corporate matters, environmental lawsuits and patent litigations.
In the course of the work at the law firm I saw unmet needs for quality translation and interpretation. I founded ExLingo to recruit best linguists to handle projects of any size and to deliver language services that exceed client expectations, specializing in complex technical and legal fields. Finally, I really enjoy client service and pride myself on working effectively in all types of professional environments.
