About me
Language is my passion.

Having spent many years studying the German and French langauges, both modern and old, and gaining a good joint honours degree (BA Hons 2.1) from the University of Durham (UK), they have been the basis of my career. Ten years as a teacher of modern languages was followed by a spell working as an ICT trainer for modern languages teachers in one of RM's teacher training programmes. After moving to Austria in 2006 I started out teaching English as a foreign language, and then decided to re-train as a translator, taking a distance learning course with City University in London and sitting the Institute of Linguists' Diploma in translation exams.

Not only can I bring to bear all my previous experience, but, having been resident in Austria since 2006, means that I can draw on a wide base of language in all contexts to make my translations fluent and accurate. I have produced translations on a wide range of subjects, including museum and exhibition press releases, advertising materials and display notes, personal documents such as CVs, magazine articles, websites and various business documents and reports. My aim is always to get your message across accurately in a way that sounds natural to a native speaker. I am very reliable and never miss a deadline.

When not working I am a busy mother of two, and in my free time I enjoy cookery, reading (I run an English book club for a group of friends), listening to and playing music, and getting out and about to explore this region.
