About me
Born in Toronto, Michael completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree with two majors: Culture and Expression, and European Studies, both with emphasis on music and theatre courses. Having worked in arts organizations for three years, he started to take his language skills, which he has used for more than twenty-five years, and branch out into tourism and translation studies. He used his language skills as a tour guide and interpreter at Rogers Centre Tour Experience (formerly SkyDome) where he conducted tours for public and private groups in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Swedish and American Sign Language. Michael also has worked as a bilingual (English/French) proofreader for the Blue Pages of the Government of Ontario, as well as a bilingual administrative assistant for the Government Translation Service, and has worked freelance in the fields of translation, tutoring and proofreading for twenty-four years. He is now set to concentrate primarily on finding a position that will allow him to use his language skills in other fields. Michael is always open to facing new challenges and learning new skills, as well as improving the ones he has already learned. If you asked him to describe himself in only one word, he would most likely describe himself as a risk-taker. Talk with him and you’ll see that it’s an apt description!
