Nowadays water has become the vital resource for life in the planet. It is abundant in several places all over the world; though, its high demand is going to cause a shortage in such a way that it will become one of the most researched markets in the future. In America, a litre of mineral water is more expensive than a litre of petrol of the highest quality. Distributing companies of usable water, situated in the main cities in Argentina, are working on campaigns to rationalise its use due to the fact that there is no consciousness among the population in how to make careful use of the water.
There are taps dripping and doormen washing the pavements every morning. Other people, they wash their cars with irrational waste of water. Moreover, there are those who let the water run for a while, to make it hot, before taking a shower. These were some examples of misuse owing to a low cost on the bills and a lack of measurement in relation to the consumption.
In the coming years this situation will change as the drinking water is in higher demand and its consumption makes its way to a commercialising resource that used to be unnoticed, but as long as its demand is on the increase, its scarcity is getting seriously endangered.

El agua hoy es el recurso vital para la vida del planeta, abunda en muchas partes del mundo, pero su mayor demanda provocará que la falta de agua potable llegue a ser un mercado muy importante en el futuro. En los E.E.U.U. un litro de agua mineral cuesta más caro que un litro de combustible de la más alta calidad.
Las empresas distribuidoras de agua potable de las principales ciudades argentinas están haciendo campaña para racionalizar su uso debido que no existe una conciencia formada en la gente sobre el correcto uso de este recurso.
Se ven canillas que gotean y porteros que utilizan el agua para lavar todas las mañanas sus veredas, mientras otros lavan sus vehículos haciendo uso irracional de este recurso y tambien existen aquellos que encienden la ducha un rato antes dejándola correr un tiempo para calentar el agua. Estos son algunos ejemplos del mal uso y el poco cuidado que existe por existir un bajo costo del servicio y por la falta de medición en función de cantidad consumida.
En los próximos años, esto cambiará ya que el agua potable se está considerando cada vez más indispensable y su consumo masivo hace que se lo tenga en cuenta como un recurso comercial, sin embargo, a medida que la demanda crece, la escasez presenta una grave amenaza.
