The diet of more than 3 billion people worldwide includes inadequate levels of essential vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin A and iron. Deficiency in just these two micronutrients can result in severe anemia, impaired intellectual development, blindness, and even death. And even though charities and aid agencies such as the United Nations Childrens' Fund and the World Health Organization have made important strides in reducing vitamin A and iron deficiency, success has been fleeting. All the parts are produced in negative moulds, fully vacuum bagged sandwich construction technology. All the parts are painted in the moulds, either single colours or designed colour schemes. A new production method, called TAVS (Total Area Sandwich), enables us to present this aircraft with incredible built in strength, while still being lightweight and for a price that nobody could even consider some years ago. C’est ici un livre de bonne foi, lecteur. Il t’avertit, dès le seuil, que je ne m’y suis proposé d’autres fins que familiales et personnelles. Je n’y ai eu nul souci de ton intérêt ou de ma gloire : je n’ai pas assez de forces pour concevoir un tel dessein. J’ai destiné ce livre à la commodité personnelle de mes parents et de mes amis, afin que, lorsqu’ils m’auront perdu – ce qui ne saurait tarder –, ils puissent retrouver quelques traits de mon tempérament et de mon caractère, et qu’ils puissent ainsi nourrir de façon plus complète et plus vivante la connaissance qu’ils auront eue de moi.
Si j’avais écrit pour rechercher les faveurs du monde, je me serais mieux paré, et je me présenterais dans une attitude étudiée. Mais je veux qu’on me voie là tel que je suis habituellement, simplement, naturellement, et ordinairement, sans recherche et sans artifice : car c’est moi que je peins. Mes défauts se liront là comme ils sont, ainsi que ma manière d’être naturelle, du moins autant que me le permettent les convenances. Si j’avais appartenu à ces peuplades dont on dit qu’elles vivent encore dans la douce liberté de lois naturelles primitives, je t’assure que je me serais volontiers peint ici tout entier et tout nu.

Se avessi scritto per ricercare consensi dal pubblico, mi sarei presentato meglio, in modo più ricercato. Al contrario, voglio che mi si veda in tutta la mia semplicità e spontaneità, nella vita di tutti i giorni, senza fronzoli e artifici perché è me stesso che io dipingo. Vi si leggeranno tutti i miei difetti così come la mia immagine al naturale, nei limiti del rispetto pubblico.
Se fossi appartenuto a quelle popolazioni di cui si dice vivano ancora nella libertà autentica delle primitive leggi di natura, ti garantisco che mi sarei volentieri ritratto tutto intero e tutto nudo, senza alcuna censura.
