Schmelzkern-Spritzgießen
Das Schmelzkern-Spritzgießen ist ein Sonderverfahren des Kunststoff-Spritzgießens. Es dient zum Herstellen von Formteilen mit Hohlräumen oder Hinterschneidungen, die mit Werkzeugen mit entformbaren Kernen nicht möglich wären.
Beschreibung
Das Verfahren besteht aus drei wesentlichen Schritten. Zunächst gießt man aus einem niedrigschmelzenden Metall einen Kern, der dem zu formenden Hohlraum im vorgesehenen Formteil entspricht. Dieser wird im zweiten Schritt in das Spritzgießwerkzeug eingelegt und mit Kunststoff umspritzt. Formteil und Kern werden gemeinsam entformt und im dritten Schritt in ein Heizbad gebracht, um den Kern auszuschmelzen. Die Badtemperatur wird etwas höher als der Schmelzpunkt der Kernlegierung gewählt, so dass das Spritzgussteil noch nicht beschädigt wird. Durch induktives Erwärmen des Kernmetalls im Heizbad verringert sich die Ausschmelzzeit auf wenige Minuten. Flüssiges Kernmetall sammelt sich am Boden des Heizbads und ist für neue Kerne nutzbar.
Anwendung
Der Einsatz des Schmelzkernverfahrens beschränkt sich nicht nur auf das Spritzgießen von Thermoplasten, sondern mit entsprechenden Kernlegierungen auch auf duroplastische Formmassen (Duroplaste). Anwendung findet das Schmelzkernverfahren zum Beispiel für spritzgegossene Saugrohre von Pkw-Motoren. Durch Modifizierung der Anlage kann man inzwischen jedoch auch kleine Formteile wie Armaturen oder Pumpengehäuse herstellen, indem die Herstellung der Schmelzkerne und der umspritzten Teile auf einer Spritzgießmaschine durchgeführt wird.

Fusible core injection molding
Fusible core injection molding is a specialized plastic injection molding process. It is used in the manufacture of molded components with cavities or undercuts, which would not be possible with tools having demoldable cores.
Description
The process consists of three essential steps: First, a core consisting of a low melting point metal is poured in the shape of the cavity specified for the molded component. This is inserted into the injection mold in the second step and injected with plastic. Molded component and core are both demolded and, in the third step, immersed in a heated bath to melt out the core. The bath temperature is selected to be somewhat higher than that of the core alloy’s melting point, but not so that the injected part would be damaged. Induction heating of the core metal in the heated bath reduces the melt out time to a few minutes. Liquid core metal collects on the bottom of the heated bath and is usable for a new core.
Application
The application of the fusible core process is not limited just to the injection of thermoplastics, but with corresponding core alloys also to thermosetting plastic molding materials (duroplast). The fusible core process finds application, for example, for injection molded passenger car engine intake manifolds. By modifying the equipment, small molded parts like valves or pump housings can be manufactured, as the manufacture of the fusible cores and the injected parts can be carried out on an injection molding machine.

Heizbad
Ein Heizbad verwendet man im Labor, um eine chemische Reaktion bei erhöhter Temperatur ablaufen zu lassen.
Das Heizbad ist eine Flüssigkeit, die sich in einem offenen (Metall-)Topf befindet. Als Flüssigkeit kommen vor allem Wasser und Öl zur Verwendung. Ein Wasserbad wird bei Temperaturen bis 100°C benutzt. Ein Ölbad wird bei Temperaturen über 100°C eingesetzt. Das Heizbad wird auf einer Heizplatte erwärmt. In das Heizbad wird das Reaktionsgefäß (Rundkolben, Erlenmeyerkolben, Becherglas) eingetaucht. Zur Kontrolle der Temperatur wird meist noch ein Thermometer in die Flüssigkeit gehalten.

SICALIS ist ein Prüfsystem, dass in der Automobilindustrie eingesetzt wird, um in der Fahrzeugendmontage die Qualität der Produkte zu gewährleisten. Der Schwerpunkt von SICALIS ECOS liegt vor allem in der Prüfung der elektrischen und elektronischen Verbraucher im Fahrzeug. Die Prüfungen umfassen die Fahrzeugelektrik (darunter sind alle elektrischen Verbraucher vom Licht bis zur Sitzheizung zu verstehen) sowie die Fahrzeugelektronik (Steuergeräte für ABS, Airbag, Motor, Getriebe etc.) sowie Prüfungen im Zusammenspiel mit Fahrwerk- und Rollenprüfständen.
Für diese Prüfungen werden spezielle Prüfprogramme erstellt, die durch Parametrierung mit dem SICALIS ECOS-System an die technischen Anforderungen, Abläufe und Kenndaten der Fahrzeuge angepasst werden.
So können für jedes Fahrzeug automatisch nach der Fahrzeugidentifizierung die individuellen Besonderheiten, wie z.B. Ausstattungs-, Motorvarianten usw. im Prüfprogramm mit berücksichtigt werden. Für spezielle Prüfvorgänge, die durch Interaktion des Prüfpersonals ausgelöst werden müssen, können spezifische Anweisungen und Dialoge zur Bedienerführung vorgegeben werden.
Innerhalb von Prüfprogrammen können nicht nur die Funktionstüchtigkeit von Steuergeräten getestet, sondern auch während des Prüfungsablaufs codiert bzw. mit neuer "Firmware" programmiert werden. Anschließend können natürlich auch die "heruntergeladenen" Daten überprüft, sowie die Funktionstüchtigkeit der angeschlossenen Aktoren und Sensoren getestet werden.
Auf diese Weise wird sichergestellt, dass z.B. ein Airbagsteuergerät nach entsprechender Programmierung und zugehörigem Test der Aktoren und Sensoren die geforderte Funktionalität bereitstellt und damit die Sicherheit der Insassen gewährleistet.
