My original qualification is in Economics (German Masters Degree in 1990), with German and US American Secondary School degrees.

During my professional career as an Economist in Germany (Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, German Railways), I acquired strong original copywriting experience (marketing material, editorial work, press releaes, speech writing, corporate communication, general correspondence) and I enjoy to use the German language in all its variety, conveying a text to the desired tone.

I moved to London in 1996. Here I have worked in the language and bi-cultural sector since 1998. I started translating newspaper articles, press releases and business reports/features for a German journalist, and achieved formal qualification as Dip Trans IOL in January 2005. My specialisations are in Marketing, Business and Economics, Education, Travel & Tourism and Social Sciences (History). Apart from editorial work I have translated marketing materials, corporate brochures, website contents, manuals, general correspondence etc.

As I spend a significant amount of time in Germany and maintain strong links and contacts, I have a live-knowledge of both English and German. I take specific pride in my stylistic and grammatical strength.
