The cooling water system is mainly a mechanical-hydraulic-system with few options for local operation.
The cooling water pumps are automatically started and stopped by the motor control system (MCC) as an integrated part of the start stop sequence of the generating units.
Control systems are described in the Control System Suppliers User Manual.
Drw. no. ##### – P&I Diagram. Cooling Water System, shows the valves in their normal operating positions.
During operation the stand-by filter CM CW FL 140, the stand-by strainer CM CW FL 150 or the stand-by heat exchanger CM CW HEX 160 can be put into service.
IMPORTANT: Open their isolating valves before closing the isolating valves of the main components.
5.1 Operating limits
Please refer to the operation check-list table in section 3.6.
5.2 Start-up, normal operation
By opening the primary circuit isolating gate valve U1 CW VV 1418
(U2 CW VV 1418), water is fed into the primary circuit from the draft tube. Make sure that this valve is open before starting the unit.
Air is released by opening the manual air ventl valves on the heat exchangers, see suppliers manual. Close the valves when water is flowing out.
Under normal, continuous operation, the system needs systematically visual surveillance. The vital functions have protective measures which signal abnormal conditions. It is however advisable to survey the parameters in section 3.6 regularly.
Detailed description of the equipment operation is given in the appropriate sub-supplier documentation, see Section 8.
| | Spanish to English: Treatment Plant (simple) | Source text - Spanish CONCEPTO DE DISEÑO ARQUITECTONICO
| Translation - English ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN CONCEPT
The design and specifications of the architectural project meet all the current applicable YYYYYY laws and regulations as well as applicable local codes and regulations.
The design meets the Technical and Administrative Aspects specified in the ZZZZZZ Building Law Regulations, and the specifications of the ABCDE Civil Design manuals.
The facilities are located within the XXXXXX Plant site. All of the facilities have been designed to be functional and practical, optimizing a long life and low maintenance, but above all to harmonize aesthetically with the surroundings.
The layout of the buildings in the XXXXXX Wastewater Treatment Plant shows the administration and laboratory buildings, the guard booth near the site entrance and will be easily identifiable for the public. These buildings are separated from the operational personnel and other structures by green areas and roads.
The workshop and operational building and the sludge treatment building are located together with the plant structures. The workshop is located next to the final treatment units in consideration of the odors and building maintenance.
The sludge treatment building is located next to the sludge storage tank in an area accessible to the sludge transportation vehicles, due to the daily container loading and unloading operations.
All plant areas not occupied by structures will be covered with vegetation chosen for their low maintenance, aesthetics, local use and effectiveness against soil erosion.
Sufficient and appropriate paved surfaces will be provided within the facilities for vehicles and pedestrians as established by the Civil Design Criteria.
All building façades will be uniform in style and construction materials. The wall finishes will be brick with stone block for structural support. The walls will be insulated against heat and cold, thus lowering the costs of heating and cooling.
The Administration building is offered with a more elaborate finish than the remaining structures, although it will keep aesthetics similar to that of the other buildings. |
