I am a certified English <> Polish translator and interpreter.

AT THE MOMENT

I live in Edinburgh and I work as a freelance interpreter and translator.


EDUCATION

I graduated from Adam Mickiewicz University in June 2009 with MA in English Studies.

In the years 2007-2009 I attended a full-time Conference Interpreting Programme. After passing the final exams I was awarded with Certificate in Conference Interpreting.

In 2010, I passed Diploma in Public Service Interpreting exam in Scottish Law.


EXPERIENCE IN INTERPRETING

Since 2009 I've interpreted at

* courts (whispering and consecutive interpreting): extradition cases, shoplifting cases, assault cases, 'breach of the peace' cases, disqulification cases. The cases were both intermediate diets and trial diets.

* Childrens' Hearings

* police stations (consecutive interpreting): questioning of the suspects detained on charges of assault and battery, domestic violence, robbery, biting by a dog

* medical practices/hospitals: cases of halitosis, taking swabs, test results, asthma, stomach ache, smoking, vaccines, angina. Hospital visits concerned: traumatic brain injury, scans of babies, check-ups with midwives, gynaecologists, using artificial limbs.
