Schooled in Italy, Germany and the UK, I started translating and interpreting nearly 20 years ago as a means to finance my studies at the University of Munich. Since then I’ve shared my professional time between management activities and linguistic work. My target languages are German and Italian, my main areas of expertise technical, medical, legal and economic.

Typical examples of my work:
I often act as a “linguistic liasion officer” for German (Italian) firms undertaking ventures in Italy (Germany), from contract stage to completion, interpreting, translating and/or coordinating the translation of bigger volumes where necessary. A major project of this sort was the participation of the German steel construction firm Mero GmbH & Co. KG in the erection of the Nuovo Polo Fieristico in Milan, starting early in 2003 and reaching completion 2 years later.
Another regular activity is for law firms specializing in international transactions. These are the sort of jobs I prefer because they allow me to acquire in-depth knowledge of the subject and to perform accordingly.

I believe that to do serious business abroad a firm must get its specific know-how across the linguistic barrier with as little loss of definition as possible. While the first 85% may come easy, the rest is hard and should be valued as such.
