Digital Regulation System with Harmonic control
This document describes the architecture of digital electrode control system on arc furnace.
The system planning required the application of an iterative process to decompose the problem into simpler components: the top-down method.
Another important concept for the architecture setting concerned the modularity, which allows optimizing the independence among the parts the system consists of (modules); in this way insertion, substitution or elimination of a module is possible with less difficulty.
Operating simplicity of process control
The technologist provides for the definition/modification of all working parameters necessary to the system. For that reason he/she will interact in a simple and immediate way with the controller by a Personal Computer.
Connectivity with external supervision systems
This requirement comes from the increasing integration between control and supervision systems.
The control systems are specialized in the specific process management they are addressed to. They are often distinguished in order to obtain the best results in terms of response time and control accuracy, emphasizing the aspects they are implemented for, with respect to others considered as less relevant.
The supervision systems must not meet urgent requirements in terms of response time, as for the control systems. They allow working out some aspects more carefully, such as a more sophisticated man-machine interface (windows, pointing devices) and using management and analysis tools for complex data (databases, spreadsheets, etc.).
The division between the functions nearest to man, delegated to the supervision system, and the process ones, carried out by the control system, will be implemented with the dialogue module definition between the supervisor and the control, named communication driver.
Adaptability to following requirements and new technologies
The use of a software-programmable control system meets the requirements of adaptability; the adaptability of an application to new or modified needs will be realized by setting architecture, based on separated functional modules.
System software architecture
The software project follows a top-down type approach, where a problem is decomposed in simpler components, by following an iterative process. Furthermore, a module structure has been defined to assure a good function location and therefore to simplify the identification of the system anomalies, if any.
The software architecture identification is very important within a project area for its influence on the successive phases; furthermore, it drives into a problem analysis, possibly underlining any gaps in the operating specification phase.

System sterowania i regulacji cyfrowej z kontrolą (ograniczeniem) harmonicznych
Niniejszy dokument opisuje architekturę systemu sterowania cyfrowego pracą elektrod w piecu łukowym.
System planowania wymagał zastosowania procesu iteracyjnego w celu rozbicia problemu na prostsze elementy składowe: Metoda top-down („od ogółu do szczegółu”).
Inną ważną koncepcją było ustalenie architektury związanej z modułowością, która umożliwiałaby optymalizację niezależności między częściami systemu składającego się z modułów; w ten sposób wstawianie, zastępowanie i eliminowanie modułu jest możliwe bez większych trudności.
Prostota obsługi sterowania procesem
Technolog dostarcza wszystkie definicje i zmiany wszystkich parametrów roboczych potrzebnych do pracy systemu. Z tego powodu technolog będzie działał interakcyjnie w sposób prosty i natychmiastowy przy pomocy sterownika za pośrednictwem komputera osobistego.
Spójność z zewnętrznymi systemami nadzoru
To wymaganie wywodzi się z wzrastającej integracji między systemami sterowania i nadzoru.
Systemy sterowania są wyspecjalizowane w kierowaniu określonymi procesami, do których są skierowane. Są one często podzielone, aby osiągnąć najlepsze rezultaty, jeśli chodzi o czas reakcji i dokładności sterowania, uwydatniając te aspekty, do których są powołane kosztem innych, które są traktowane, jako mniej ważne.
Systemy nadzoru nie mogą spełniać pilnych wymagań, jeśli chodzi o czas reakcji systemów sterowania Te systemy umożliwiają pracę, w niektórych aspektów sterowania, z większą dokładnością, takich jak, wyrafinowany interfejs człowiek-maszyna i narzędzia analityczne do złożonych danych ( bazy danych, arkusze kalkulacyjne, itd.).
Rozdział funkcji, nas te, najbliższe człowiekowi przekazane do systemu nadzoru oraz funkcje technologiczne prowadzone przez system sterowania, będzie wdrożony poprzez zdefiniowanie modułu dialogu pomiędzy personelem nadzoru i systemem sterowania, zwanym stymulatorem łączności (communication driver).
Możliwości przystosowawcze do poszczególnych wymagań i technologii
Zastosowanie systemu sterowania, który można zaprogramować softwarowo, spełnia wymagania dotyczące przystosowalności aplikacji do nowych lub zmieniających się potrzeb, będą realizowane przez ustawienie architektury opartej na oddzielnych modułach funkcjonalnych
Architektura systemu oprogramowania
Projekt oprogramowania przestrzega zasad top-down, gdzie problem jest rozkładany na prostsze elementy w następującym procesie iteracyjnym. Ponadto, struktura modułowa ma zapewnić dobre rozmieszczenie i dlatego ułatwia znajdowanie anomalii systemu.
Określanie architektury oprogramowania jest bardzo ważne w sferze projektowania z uwagi na wpływ na kolejne fazy; ponadto, stanowi siłę napędową analizy problemowej, wykrywając wszystkie luki w fazie specyfikacji roboczej.
