I have a proven track record in Slovak language arts – I excel in essay composition, poetry, lyrics, and other short literary forms. I have a lifelong interest in literature. As a Slovakian national I completed schooling in Slovak language. For several years I served as an editor of a well recognized student magazine, published numerous poems and essays.
My schooling in English started at an early age of seven. Enhanced instruction of English continued through elementary and high school. This was followed by 2 years of technical English at University level. Since my relocation to Canada in 1992 I have been going through real life English emersion. This was enhanced by further studies of English at a local college.
I have attained high level of comfort in bilingual environments requiring momentary switching between Slovakian and English. This is demonstrated by participation in a Czechoslovakian community theatre as well as in The North Shore Theatre for Children (both in Vancouver, BC, Canada).
