While the specimen stressed, one of the prescribed chemicals shall be applied to the top surface of the specimen above the fulcrum point. The chemical shall be applied with a soft, 13 mm (1/2 in) wide brush, wet before each stroke. Ten individual strokes at one second intervals across the width of the specimen shall be required.
