It appears in a wide range of games including strategy video games, construction and management simulations and pet-raising simulations. Micromanagement has been a controversial aspect of game design for many years: some gamers regard it as an unwelcomed distraction from higher levels of strategic thinking, and some games try to minimize it; some players and designers treat it as an important skill, and one that is necessary if the game is to support top-level competitions; and some enjoy opportunities to use tactical skill in combat but dislike having to do a lot of detailed work when managing their economies. | More Less | | Lucas' Personal Gloss | | Years of translation experience: 1. My name is Lucas Maciel Peixoto, and I am a Language Arts student. I am part of an academical project for language teacher training, and therefore I teach English lessons as a main activity.
I had studied economics for two years, when I decided it was not the best for me. My proficiency with English, and my ability to learn languages fast, led me to changing courses to Language Arts. However, two years of study of economical theories and terms have given me a reasonable knowledge of the area, which I do not regret.
I mainly like music and gaming as spare-time activities, even though my spare-time has decreased quite a lot after I started studying and working at the same time. But I like it, since now I am sure that I am in the right field for me.
Having had contact with many professionals of different areas in the university, I developed an interest in translation, and that is what brought me to ProZ.com. In spite of the fact that teaching is my main activity, I still expect to be an active freelance translator throughout my life. I see myself spending half the time teaching and half the time translating, in the future.
