I have two broad areas of specialization:
(1) Human Resources (HR)
I spent a lifetime in Human Resources, most recently 12 years as Head of Human Resources at American Express Bank Germany and prior to that as Personnel Manager at KPMG (accounting) and McCann Erickson (advertising agency). All required extensive implementations of Corporate Company policies and procedures, available in English language, in Germany in German language, examples include Staff Handbook, Code of Conduct, Compensation and Benefits, Incentive Schemes, Employee Surveys, Competency Models, PeopleSoft implementation, eHR implementation, Training, Total Quality Management.
Since my retirement end of 2004 at age 65, I am now working as a freelance translator for international clients with increasing success, not only for HR but also for Compliance, Marketing and Sales. Assignments include Brand Training, Compensation & Benefits, Incentive Schemes, Health & Safety, Emergency Response, Job Descriptions, Code of Conduct, Compliance Training, Money Laundering, Restructuring, Finance Policies, website localisation. Most recently, I have translated the 2005 version of the Code of Conduct of an international organization plus the related Code of Conduct training materials into German.
(2) Gardening, in particular roses
Together with my wife Helga, a successful gardening writer, I translated major English rose books into German including Peter Beales "Classic Roses" and David Austin "English Roses" (see more at the bottom of my CV). Other assignments include rose catalogues and whole sale terms of business for international rose firms in UK and France.
Whether in HR or in gardening, delivering high quality translations very fast with absolute reliability regarding deadlines and at low cost resulted in longstanding relationships with my customers. Having been a heavy user of WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT for now 20 years, I am capable of reacting very fast to any request. I use to exceed customer expectations regarding delivery time and quality.
