My name is Widati Utami, Indonesian fulltime freelance translator, who is at the moment residing in the UK. My language pair is Japanese-Indonesian and English-Indonesia.
I have been working as Japanese-Indonesian and English-Indonesian fulltime freelance translator for almost four years with several organizations, companies, publishers, and translation agencies. Mostly I translate patent documents, annual reports, booklets, brochures, web content, etc, in the area of chemicals, cosmetics, tourism, finance, general business, educations, and other social science. Besides translating documents, I enjoy translating Japanese and English novels and comics. I have been working with several major publishing companies in Indonesia.
I graduated from Faculty of Literature, majoring at Japanese linguistics in Gadjah Mada University and have passed 2nd level of Japanese Proficiency Test held by The Japan Foundation. I spent one year studying Japanese Linguistics in Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Japan. Prior working as a fulltime freelance translator, I was an instructor of Indonesian language for expatriates in Indonesian language training centre for more than three years.
