I grew up in the German speaking part of Switzerland, bilingual in German and French. I studied in England and Switzerland and completed my studies with a Masters in Dietetics.
For several years I worked as the head of the nutrition team in a well-known private clinic in Switzerland. I trained dieticians and clinic personnel in regards to dietetic aspects of patients' treatment with a focus on the specific nutritional needs of patients in the intensive care unit. During that time I also published a German book for patients with renal failures, currently in its 2nd edition. I instructed patients with special nutritional needs who were speakers of German, French, English and Italian; primarily patients having had cardiac bypass surgery, gastrointestinal surgery or cancer.
I then opened a private practice for nutrition and dietetics. Patients referred to me by their primary care physicians suffered of obesity, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, high blood pressure, celiac disease, food intolerances, allergies, and anorexia.
I relocated to the United States in 1997. Having worked in the medical field for over ten years I have since specialized myself in medical translations.
In the meantime I have translated thousands of medical documents for Tricare Europe, the Social Security Administration and the Veterans Administration from German into English as well as instructions for clinical trials for the pharmaceutical industry from English into German.
I am very detail-oriented and reliable and I always deliver on time.
