English to Italian: DBP formation in drinking water: kinetics and linear General field: Science Detailed field: Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng
Source text - English ABSTRACT.
An original approach for modelling disinfection-by-product
formation in chlorinated drinking water is proposed. The obtained system of linear differential equations is solved in explicit terms. Two sets of solutions are derived, assuming, respectively, that the reaction rate is the same for all species included in the model, and that the reaction rate is characteristic for each specie and varies from one specie to another. Obtained solutions are compared with experimental data, validating the proposed approach. Different statistic tests are also performed to compare the two sets of solutions and confirm the assumed hypotheses.
a clorazione.
